Meet Jenna
I grew up in rural Iowa singing in school choir and dancing in competitions on the weekends. I can be seen for approximately two seconds in one episode of Dance Moms (the one with the "Kick Me" sign...if you know you know).
I started Musical Theater during my junior year of high school as a way to spend time with my friends who insisted Seussical rehearsal was the place to be.
They were actually totally right. I was hooked.
In the midst of discovering my love for theater, I was exploring a different passion: journalism. I worked at the local newspaper in my hometown and wrote articles that were published in other papers across Iowa. I committed to Purdue University with the intention of studying Professional Writing.
Well...that changed.
While at Purdue, I spent most of my time working to transfer to a new school to study Musical Theater--I filmed dance calls in the common room and sang Zoom callbacks in my shared dorm room.
I landed at the Hartt School where I spent four years soaking up every single thing I could and building an extremely versatile resume--from Fosse, to Shakespeare, to soprano!
Some things never change: I still can write a whole lot and, more importantly, I love knowing things. I am a detail-oriented, thoughtful, and grounded performer with a very well-rounded and unique set of skills. I am ambitious and determined to tell a variety of stories that inspire audiences to challenge the way they think or provide an entertaining escape through singing, acting, and dancing.
When I'm not performing, I am crafty! I love crocheting, sewing, and scrapbooking. I love reading and bullet journaling. I also LOVE cats. Not in a weird way.
